Cargolux has recently taken delivery of its inaugural duo of AT-802F Fire Boss fixed-wing aircraft, designated for deployment within its newly established firefighting subsidiary.
This aircraft duo, consisting of a single-seater and a two-seater, was officially handed over to the Luxembourg-based cargo carrier on the 22nd of December 2023. These two aircraft signify the vanguard of a planned fleet expansion, which anticipates the arrival of an additional ten units, all with an estimated collective investment of approximately US$72 million.
The forthcoming squadron is slated to be operated by Cargolux’s freshly minted subsidiary, Aquarius Aerial Firefighting, which has outlined ambitions to participate in firefighting contracts throughout Europe. The company aspires to commence its firefighting operations later in the current year.
